Job Title: Emergency Medical Technician

Job Description: An Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) provides pre-hospital care and transportation for individuals experiencing medical emergencies. EMTs respond to emergency calls, assess patient conditions, provide necessary medical care, and ensure safe transport to medical facilities. They play a critical role in the healthcare system, acting as the first responders to life-threatening situations.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to, confirm your Job Descriptions with the Interviewer:

  1. Emergency Response:
    • Respond promptly to 911 calls and other emergency situations.
    • Drive ambulances or other emergency vehicles safely under various conditions.
  2. Patient Assessment:
    • Assess patients’ conditions to determine the extent of injuries or illnesses.
    • Obtain medical histories and vital signs (e.g., blood pressure, pulse, and respiratory rate).
  3. Medical Care:
    • Provide basic life support (BLS) such as CPR, airway management, and bleeding control.
    • Administer oxygen, bandage wounds, and stabilize fractures or spinal injuries.
    • Use automated external defibrillators (AEDs) and other medical equipment.
    • Assist paramedics or higher-level medical professionals with advanced procedures when required.
  4. Transportation:
    • Safely transport patients to hospitals or other medical facilities.
    • Monitor and maintain patient stability during transport.
  5. Documentation:
    • Record detailed patient information, including medical history, treatment provided, and any changes in condition.
    • Prepare and submit accurate reports to healthcare providers and emergency services.
  6. Equipment and Vehicle Maintenance:
    • Inspect and maintain medical equipment and emergency vehicles.
    • Restock supplies and ensure readiness for the next emergency call.

Education:

  • Bachelor of Science in Emergency and Trauma Care Technology (BSc ETCT)

Experience:

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
