Job Description: A Medical Records Officer is responsible for managing and maintaining patient records and healthcare data to ensure accuracy, accessibility, and confidentiality. They play a crucial role in the efficient operation of healthcare facilities by organizing and safeguarding information critical for patient care, billing, and compliance with legal and regulatory standards.

Records Management:
- Collect, organize, and maintain patient medical records and documentation in physical and electronic formats.
- Ensure records are complete, accurate, and up-to-date.
Data Entry and Retrieval:
- Enter patient information into Electronic Health Records (EHR) or other healthcare information systems.
- Retrieve patient records promptly when requested by authorized personnel.
Compliance and Confidentiality:
- Adhere to legal, ethical, and organizational standards for data protection, including HIPAA or other relevant privacy laws.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with healthcare providers, administrative staff, and insurance companies to ensure accurate recordkeeping.
- Assist in coding and billing processes to support revenue cycle management.
Quality Assurance:
- Conduct regular audits to ensure data accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Implement corrective actions for incomplete or inaccurate records.
Process Improvement:
- Develop and update procedures for medical recordkeeping.
- Stay informed about advancements in health information technology and implement best practices.
Support and Training:
- Train staff on proper record management procedures and compliance requirements.
- Provide technical support for EHR systems as needed.
Skills and Qualifications:
Msc Medical Documentation with 3 years of experience or Bsc Medical Documentation with 6 years of experience.
