Job Title: Occupational Therapist

Job Description: An Occupational Therapist (OT) helps individuals of all ages achieve independence and improve their quality of life by addressing physical, mental, emotional, and developmental challenges. OTs assess patients’ needs, design personalized therapy plans, and implement interventions to help clients perform daily activities, enhance functional abilities, and adapt to their environments.

  1. Patient Assessment
    • Evaluate patients’ physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities.
    • Identify limitations affecting daily living activities, work, or leisure.
    • Conduct functional assessments and recommend assistive technologies or adaptations.

    • Develop individualized treatment programs based on patient goals and needs.
    • Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare teams to set realistic objectives.
    • Recommend adaptive equipment and modifications for home, school, or workplace environments.
  3. Intervention and Therapy
    • Implement therapeutic interventions, including physical exercises, mental strategies, and task simulations.
    • Educate patients on techniques to improve mobility, strength, and coordination.
    • Provide training on the use of assistive devices, such as wheelchairs, orthotics, or prosthetics.
  4. Monitoring and Progress Evaluation
    • Track patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary.
    • Document treatment outcomes, maintaining accurate patient records.
    • Communicate progress and challenges with multidisciplinary teams and family members.
  5. Education and Advocacy
    • Educate patients and caregivers on injury prevention and health promotion.
    • Advocate for patients’ needs in accessing community resources and support services.
    • Conduct workshops or provide training for staff and community groups.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Strong knowledge of medical conditions, rehabilitation techniques, and adaptive equipment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for patient interaction and team collaboration.
  • Problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities for effective treatment planning.

Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience.
