Job Title: Infection Control Nurse
Job Description: An Infection Control Nurse plays a vital role in healthcare settings, focusing on the prevention, identification, and management of infections to ensure a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

- Surveillance and Monitoring
- Conduct regular monitoring of infection rates within the facility.
- Track and analyze infection data to identify trends or outbreaks.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of infection occurrences.
- Policy Development and Compliance
- Develop and implement infection prevention policies and procedures.
- Ensure adherence to local, national, and international infection control standards and regulations.
- Assist in the development of emergency response plans for infectious disease outbreaks.
- Education and Training
- Educate healthcare staff on infection prevention techniques, including proper hand hygiene and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Conduct regular training sessions on new infection control protocols.
- Raise awareness among patients and visitors about infection prevention measures.
- Outbreak Management
- Lead the investigation and management of infection outbreaks within the facility.
- Collaborate with medical teams to implement containment measures.
- Communicate with public health authorities when necessary.
- Environmental Oversight
- Conduct inspections to ensure that the facility meets sanitation and hygiene standards.
- Work with housekeeping, maintenance, and other departments to address infection risks.
- Clinical Support
- Provide expert advice on infection control during patient care procedures.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to review and optimize infection control practices.
- Reporting and Documentation
- Prepare detailed reports on infection control activities and trends for management review.
- Document incidents, interventions, and outcomes related to infection prevention.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Education:
- Bsc Nursing or GNM.
- Experience:
- Minimum 2 years of Clinical nursing experience, with a focus on infection control or epidemiology.
- Familiarity with healthcare-associated infection (HAI) reporting systems.
- Skills:
- Strong knowledge of microbiology, epidemiology, and infection control protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities to interpret infection data effectively.
- Leadership skills to influence and educate staff at all levels.
