Job Title: Transplant Coordinator
Job Description: A Transplant Coordinator is a specialized healthcare professional responsible for managing the complex processes involved in organ transplantation. They work closely with patients, donors, families, medical teams, and regulatory agencies to ensure smooth coordination and successful outcomes for transplant procedures.

Patient Evaluation and Education
- Assess patients to determine eligibility for transplantation.
- Provide education to patients and families about the transplantation process, including risks, benefits, and post-operative care.
Donor Management
- Identify potential organ donors and liaise with donor organizations.
- Coordinate the evaluation and suitability of donors, including living and deceased donors.
Transplant Coordination
- Schedule and organize pre-transplant evaluations, surgery dates, and follow-up appointments.
- Serve as the primary point of contact between the patient, medical team, and external agencies during the transplantation process.
Regulatory Compliance and Documentation
- Ensure compliance with national and international transplant regulations and guidelines.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all transplant-related activities.
Post-Transplant Care
- Monitor recipients for signs of organ rejection or complications.
- Educate patients on medications, lifestyle adjustments, and long-term care requirements.
Communication and Support
- Provide emotional and psychological support to patients and families.
- Facilitate communication between the patient, donor family, and medical team.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong organizational and coordination abilities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Knowledge of medical and surgical procedures related to transplantation.
- Familiarity with legal and ethical considerations in organ donation.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving skills in high-pressure situations.
Education and Experience:
- BSC Nursing/ MSW with minimum 1 year of experience as coordinator in multiorgan transplant.
