Job Title: Infection Control Nurse
Job Description: An Infection Control Nurse plays a vital role in preventing and managing the spread of infections within healthcare facilities.

- Infection Surveillance and Reporting:
- Monitor and analyze infection data to identify trends and potential outbreaks.
- Report infections to appropriate regulatory bodies in compliance with local, state, or national guidelines.
- Policy Development and Implementation:
- Develop, update, and enforce infection prevention and control policies and protocols.
- Ensure policies align with industry standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., CDC, WHO, OSHA).
- Education and Training:
- Educate healthcare staff, patients, and visitors on infection prevention techniques, such as hand hygiene and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Conduct regular training sessions and workshops to improve compliance.
- Clinical Consultation:
- Act as a resource for healthcare professionals on infection control matters, including the management of infectious patients.
- Collaborate with other medical staff to implement evidence-based practices in patient care.
- Outbreak Investigation and Management:
- Lead investigations during outbreaks to determine sources and control the spread.
- Implement immediate measures to address outbreaks and prevent recurrence.
- Compliance and Auditing:
- Conduct audits of healthcare practices to ensure adherence to infection control guidelines.
- Review sterilization and cleaning procedures in the facility.
- Risk Assessment and Management:
- Perform risk assessments to identify potential infection hazards.
- Recommend interventions to mitigate risks and improve overall safety.
- Documentation and Record-Keeping:
- Maintain detailed records of infection data, interventions, and outcomes.
- Prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders.
Required Qualifications:
- Education and Experience
- MSC/ BSC/ GNM with certificate in infection prevention and incontrol.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in infection control practices at NABH hospital.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong understanding of microbiology, epidemiology, and public health principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for educating diverse audiences.
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to address complex infection control challenges.
- Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.
