Job Designation: Heavy Drivers, Welders, Ship Hull Assembler, Structural Fitter (Construction)

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

In Lithuania’s thriving construction industry, professionals in various roles contribute to the development and maintenance of infrastructure projects, including buildings, roads, bridges, and maritime structures.

Heavy Drivers:

  • Operating heavy vehicles and equipment, such as trucks, dump trucks, and construction machinery, to transport materials, equipment, and personnel to and from construction sites.
  • Following safety regulations, traffic laws, and route plans to ensure safe and efficient transportation of goods and materials to designated destinations.
  • Performing routine maintenance checks and inspections on vehicles and equipment, and reporting any mechanical issues or safety concerns to supervisors for prompt resolution.

Welders:

  • Fabricating and joining metal components and structures using welding techniques such as arc welding, MIG welding, or TIG welding, to meet project specifications and quality standards.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols to determine welding requirements and layout specifications.
  • Inspecting welds for quality and accuracy, and making adjustments as needed to ensure structural integrity and compliance with welding codes and standards.

Ship Hull Assembler:

  • Assembling and fitting together metal components, panels, and sections to construct ship hulls and maritime structures, following engineering plans, specifications, and assembly diagrams.
  • Using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to cut, shape, and join metal parts, and ensuring proper alignment, fit, and connection of components.
  • Inspecting assembled structures for quality, accuracy, and compliance with design requirements, and making adjustments or repairs as needed to ensure seaworthiness and integrity.

Structural Fitter:

  • Fitting and assembling structural components, such as beams, columns, and trusses, to construct buildings, bridges, and other civil engineering projects, according to architectural and engineering drawings.
  • Reading and interpreting construction plans, blueprints, and technical specifications to determine assembly sequences, dimensions, and materials requirements.
  • Using measuring instruments, cutting tools, and welding equipment to fabricate and install structural elements with precision and accuracy.

Their responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Adapting to the demands of construction work, including outdoor work in varying weather conditions, irregular schedules, and physical exertion, demonstrating resilience, endurance, and professionalism.
