Job Title: Carpenter and Joiner
Job Summary: A carpenter and joiner is responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing wooden structures and fixtures in residential, commercial, and industrial settings. This role requires precision, craftsmanship, and a deep understanding of woodworking techniques and materials. The ideal candidate will have experience in both rough and finish carpentry, with the ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Construction and Installation:
- Build and install frameworks, structures, and fixtures such as windows, doors, cabinets, stairs, and furniture.
- Construct building frameworks including walls, floors, and doorframes.
- Install moldings, baseboards, and trim.
- Joinery:
- Create custom joinery pieces for various applications, ensuring precise measurements and quality finishes.
- Work with specialized woodworking tools and machinery to produce joints and fittings.
- Blueprints and Technical Drawings:
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements.
- Plan and execute construction and joinery projects according to design specifications.
- Measurement and Cutting:
- Measure and cut wood and other materials to exact specifications.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery safely and accurately.
- Repair and Maintenance:
- Inspect and repair existing wooden structures and fixtures.
- Perform maintenance tasks to ensure the longevity and safety of wooden elements.
- Safety and Compliance:
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Ensure all work complies with building codes and regulations.
Qualifications:
- SSLC or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year relevant experience.
- Basic knowledge in English.
Working Conditions:
- Work is typically performed on construction sites, in workshops, and in clients’ homes or businesses.
- May involve working at heights, in confined spaces, and in varying weather conditions.
