Job Title: TIG Welder
Job Summary: The TIG Welder is responsible for performing welding operations using Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding techniques to join and fabricate metal components. This role requires precision and expertise in operating TIG welding equipment, interpreting technical drawings, and ensuring welds meet the highest quality and safety standards. The TIG Welder will work on a variety of materials, including stainless steel, aluminum, and other metals, contributing to the efficiency and excellence of production processes.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Welding Operations:
- Set up and operate TIG welding equipment to weld metal components and assemblies with high precision.
- Perform TIG (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding) processes on a range of materials, including stainless steel, aluminum, and other alloys.
- Prepare metal surfaces by cleaning, grinding, and aligning materials before welding.
- Blueprint Interpretation:
- Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding specifications to determine the appropriate welding techniques and materials.
- Measure and cut metal components to precise dimensions using tools and equipment.
- Quality Control:
- Inspect welds to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
- Perform visual and mechanical testing of welds to detect defects and ensure structural integrity.
- Adjust welding parameters, such as voltage, amperage, and travel speed, to achieve optimal weld quality.
- Maintenance and Safety:
- Maintain TIG welding equipment and tools in good working condition, performing routine maintenance as needed.
- Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent accidents and injuries.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in welding is preferred.
- Proven 2 years of experience as a TIG Welder or in a similar welding role.
- Proficiency in operating TIG welding equipment and understanding TIG welding techniques.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Physical Requirements:
