Job Summary:
A Heavy Driver is responsible for operating and managing heavy vehicles, such as trucks, trailers, tankers, or construction vehicles, to transport large loads safely and efficiently. Heavy Drivers play a crucial role in logistics and construction, ensuring the safe delivery of materials, equipment, or goods over long distances or across construction sites.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Operate heavy-duty vehicles, such as trucks, trailers, and tankers, following all local and federal road regulations.
- Transport goods, raw materials, or heavy equipment from designated locations to delivery points.
- Inspect vehicles daily to ensure they are in safe and working condition; report any mechanical issues or malfunctions.
- Plan and follow efficient routes to maximize fuel usage and meet delivery schedules.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring items are secured properly to prevent damage during transit.
Qualifications:
- Valid heavy vehicle driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- In-depth knowledge of operating heavy vehicles, such as articulated trucks, trailers, or tankers.
- Good physical stamina and strength for handling heavy loads and operating in challenging conditions.
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to work flexible hours, including early mornings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Job may involve long hours of driving and exposure to various weather conditions.
