Job Title: Construction Civil Supervisor

Job Overview: The Construction Civil Supervisor will oversee and supervise all civil construction activities on-site, ensuring that work is completed in accordance with project specifications, safety standards, and within the set timelines. The role requires managing and coordinating subcontractors, laborers, and materials, ensuring high-quality work while adhering to construction codes and safety regulations. This position involves close collaboration with project managers, engineers, and other team members to ensure smooth construction operations and resolve any issues that arise during the project.

Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:

  • Supervise Construction Activities:
    • Supervise daily construction activities on-site, ensuring that tasks are performed efficiently and according to project plans, specifications, and safety standards.
    • Oversee civil construction tasks, including earthworks, foundations, drainage, concrete works, and structural components.
  • Project Coordination:
    • Coordinate between site engineers, subcontractors, and other team members to ensure proper execution of the project.
    • Manage the schedule of work, ensuring that construction tasks are completed on time and within budget.
  • Quality Control:
    • Monitor the quality of materials and workmanship, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
    • Conduct inspections and ensure adherence to quality and safety guidelines throughout the construction process.
  • Safety and Compliance:
    • Enforce safety regulations on-site, ensuring that all workers follow safety procedures and wear the necessary personal protective equipment (PPE).
    • Ensure compliance with local building codes, environmental regulations, and any relevant legal requirements.
  • Material Management:
    • Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure that materials are delivered to the site as required, and inventory is maintained.
    • Supervise the use of construction materials, minimizing waste and ensuring proper storage.
  • Reporting and Documentation:
    • Maintain daily logs and records of construction progress, including work completed, issues encountered, and any deviations from the plan.
    • Report project progress, milestones, and potential delays to senior management or project stakeholders.
  • Team Supervision:
    • Manage and supervise the performance of on-site workers and subcontractors, providing guidance, resolving issues, and ensuring productivity.
    • Conduct training and safety briefings to ensure the workforce is adequately prepared for tasks and aware of safety protocols.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
    • Alternatively, a diploma in civil construction or a similar qualification with extensive experience in construction supervision may also be considered.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 10 years of experience in construction supervision, with a focus on civil works, preferably in large-scale construction projects (residential, commercial, industrial, or infrastructure).
    • Experience in managing and coordinating teams of subcontractors, laborers, and vendors on-site.
    • Proven ability to handle multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Knowledge of construction methods and materials used in civil works, including foundation construction, drainage systems, and concrete work.
    • Familiarity with construction software (e.g., Microsoft Project, Procore, or similar project management tools).
