Job Description: A Maintenance and Malfunction Technician is responsible for ensuring the proper functioning and upkeep of machinery, equipment, and systems in various industrial, manufacturing, or facility environments. The primary focus of this role is to identify, diagnose, and repair faults or malfunctions in machinery or equipment, minimizing downtime and maximizing operational efficiency.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Troubleshooting and Diagnostics: Identify mechanical, electrical, and software malfunctions using diagnostic tools and manuals. Analyze and interpret error codes or performance issues.
- Preventive Maintenance: Perform scheduled inspections and routine maintenance tasks (e.g., lubrication, cleaning, parts replacement) to prevent breakdowns and extend the lifespan of equipment.
- Repairs and Replacements: Carry out repairs or replace faulty parts, ensuring that equipment operates safely and efficiently. This may include mechanical repairs, electrical wiring, or software troubleshooting.
- System Upgrades and Modifications: Assist in upgrading systems and machinery, including installing new parts or software to improve efficiency or performance.
- Safety Compliance: Ensure all repairs and maintenance activities comply with workplace safety regulations and environmental guidelines.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, including parts used, repairs completed, and any issues identified.
