Job Title: General Farm Worker
Job Summary:
General Farm Workers perform a variety of tasks related to the care and maintenance of crops, livestock, and farm facilities. They ensure the efficient operation of the farm by assisting with planting, harvesting, feeding animals, equipment maintenance, and general upkeep.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Crop Production:
- Prepare fields for planting by plowing, tilling, and fertilizing.
- Plant, cultivate, and harvest crops such as vegetables, grains, fruits, and other agricultural products.
- Operate and maintain irrigation systems to ensure proper water distribution.
- Apply pesticides, herbicides, and fertilizers as needed.
- Livestock Care (if applicable):
- Feed and water livestock and monitor their health and well-being.
- Clean, disinfect, and maintain animal enclosures and equipment.
- Assist with breeding, birthing, and medical treatments for animals.
- Equipment Operation and Maintenance:
- Operate farm machinery, including tractors, plows, sprayers, and harvesters.
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on farm equipment.
- Facility Maintenance:
- Maintain fences, barns, greenhouses, and other farm structures.
- Handle general cleaning and organization of farm areas.
- General Tasks:
- Follow safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Monitor and record farm production data, including crop yields and livestock performance.
- Assist with loading and unloading farm supplies, produce, or livestock.
