Job Title: Welder (ARC/TIG/SS/MIG)
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Welding Operations: Perform ARC, TIG, MIG, and SS welding based on project specifications and requirements.
- Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and instructions to determine welding requirements.
- Material Preparation: Prepare metal surfaces by cleaning, cutting, grinding, or otherwise shaping materials to ensure proper alignment and fit.
- Weld Quality: Conduct welding to meet required specifications, ensuring strength, durability, and proper appearance.
- Inspection and Testing: Inspect completed welds to identify defects or weaknesses and perform necessary repairs or adjustments.
- Maintenance: Maintain and calibrate welding equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and ensure a safe working environment.
- Documentation: Maintain records of completed work and materials used for quality control and project tracking.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven experience as a welder with expertise in ARC, TIG, MIG, and stainless steel welding.
- Ability to work with various materials, including carbon steel, stainless steel, and aluminum.
- Proficiency in using tools such as grinders, cutters, and measuring instruments.
- Strong understanding of welding symbols, blueprints, and engineering drawings.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Familiarity with safety standards and procedures in welding operations.
- Certification in welding (e.g., AWS, ASME, or equivalent) is an advantage.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in welding is preferred.
- Minimum of 2-4 years of welding experience in a similar role.
Work Environment
- Primarily involves working in workshops, construction sites, or industrial facilities.
- May require lifting heavy materials, working in confined spaces, or exposure to high temperatures and bright light.
