Job Title: IT Officer
Job Summary: The IT Officer is responsible for maintaining the organization’s computer systems, networks, and technology infrastructure. This role involves providing technical support, ensuring data security, managing hardware and software, and implementing IT policies to ensure efficient and secure operations.
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Install, configure, and maintain computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers, and scanners.
- Monitor and maintain IT infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.
- Provide technical support to staff and resolve hardware/software issues promptly.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
- Ensure data security, backup, and recovery procedures are effectively implemented.
- Troubleshoot system and network problems, diagnose, and resolve issues within agreed timeframes.
- Maintain inventory of IT equipment and software licenses.
- Support implementation of new applications and technology upgrades.
- Liaise with vendors and service providers for IT-related purchases and maintenance.
- Monitor cybersecurity risks and implement protective measures.
- Train employees on IT systems, best practices, and cybersecurity awareness.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Relevant degree or Diploma or ITI with minimum 3 years of experience in Networking & Security.
- Strong knowledge of Windows/Linux operating systems, MS Office, and networking fundamentals.
- Experience with servers, routers, switches, firewalls, and cloud systems preferred.
- Good understanding of data security and backup procedures.
- Analytical thinking and strong problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and work under pressure.
