- BRICK MASONS
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Reading and interpreting drawings, plans, and specifications
- Preparing work areas and setting up scaffolding and safety barriers
- Mixing mortar and preparing other construction materials
- Laying bricks, blocks, and stones in rows, patterns, and designs
- Aligning and leveling bricks using plumb lines, spirit levels, and squares
2. CONSTRUCTION CARPENTER
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble wood, plywood, and other materials
- Construct, install, and repair building frameworks and structures such as walls, floors, doors, and windows
- Install fixtures such as cabinets, shelves, and molding
- Set up and dismantle formwork for concrete structures
3.STEEL FIXERS
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Read and interpret structural drawings, bar bending schedules, and reinforcement details
- Measure, cut, bend, and shape steel bars and mesh using hand and power tools
- Fix steel reinforcement bars, rods, and wire mesh in concrete structures
- Tie steel bars using binding wire to form reinforced frameworks
- Position and secure steel in columns, beams, slabs, and foundations
4. MACHINE PLASTERERS
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Operate plastering and spraying machines to apply plaster, mortar, or similar materials to walls, ceilings, and surfaces
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, leveling, and applying bonding agents before plastering
- Mix and load plaster materials into machines according to required specifications
- Adjust machine settings to control spray pattern, thickness, and material flow
- Monitor machine performance and carry out basic maintenance and cleaning
5. TILE MASONS
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Measure, mark, and prepare surfaces for tile installation
- Mix, apply, and spread mortar, cement, or adhesive
- Cut, shape, and fit tiles using hand and power tools
- Lay tiles on floors, walls, countertops, and other surfaces as per layout
- Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean work area
6. GYPSUM CARPENTERS
Responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Measure, cut, and install gypsum boards, drywall sheets, and partitions as per drawings and specifications.
- Fix metal frameworks, channels, studs, and supports for gypsum ceilings and wall systems.
- Install false ceilings, bulkheads, coves, and decorative ceiling designs.
- Ensure proper alignment, leveling, and finishing of gypsum panels.
- Repair, replace, and maintain damaged gypsum boards and ceiling panels.
- Use hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
